This is an exciting opportunity to join a prominent Financial Services group's Internal Audit team. This is a newly created position that reports directly to the Internal Audit Director.
 
You will be a trusted partner providing independent, risk-based assurance, advice, and insight over control frameworks to the overall audit team, ensuring the quality of audits, minimising deficiencies, and enhancing the audit methodology and reporting. The ideal candidate must have gained current, or past, experience in internal audit and could have stepped into operational risk or other.
 
You will have a keen interest in driving efficiency and add value to processes. Demonstrated experience gained in the below duties:
 
Duties:
  • Reviewing of internal audit practices and identifying areas of enhancements in relation to structure, working practices, team profile, and performance measurement.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancements, understand the root causes of control deficiencies, and prepare report and/or final deliverables to the Audit Director, ultimately going to the Board of Directors.
  • Assist in the strategic delivery of the audit plan by organising the team and providing structure.
  • Assist in the enhancing Internal Audit Methodology to include risk culture assessment and root cause analysis.
  • Quality review and agreed-upon-procedures (“AUP”) on audits.
  • Assist in preparing the internal audit plan and audit programs.
  • Training: design and/or assist organising / undertaking professional development the audit team requires, policy training and induction training.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships.
 
Ideal background:
  • Must have no less than 3 years' internal audit experience (present or past), with strong understanding of the internal audit process.
  • Above average writing skills, high attention to detail and a keen interest to improve processes and procedures.
  • Degree needed with either completed / part – ACCA / CA / CPA / CIA or other.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
