Job Title: Senior Risk Manager, Resilience & Business Continuity

Location: Sydney

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Risk Manager with a specific focus on Resilience  & Business Continuity  with a leading Australian financial services organisation. This pivotal role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing resilience strategies to ensure the organisation’s ability to respond to and recover from disruptions. The Senior Manager will also have oversight of third-party risk, ensuring critical third parties maintain effective controls and resilience practices.
As part of a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation, you will be instrumental in ensuring operational continuity during and after potential disruptions, including natural disasters, cyber incidents, and other emergencies. You will lead initiatives that enhance organisational resilience, manage complex risk scenarios, and drive continuous improvement in resilience practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of resilience strategies aligned with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Design and execute plans and programs for effective response and recovery from disruptions.
  • Conduct business impact analyses to identify critical operations and resources essential for continuity.
  • Oversee the development, testing, and maintenance of business continuity plans.
  • Coordinate regular business continuity exercises, simulations, and drills.
  • Assist in incident management and response, ensuring minimal operational impact.
  • Oversee third-party risk management, including assessments and joint resilience testing with critical providers.
  • Monitor industry trends to identify opportunities for enhancing resilience practices.
Position Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Continuity, Emergency Management, or a related field; advanced qualifications or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Business Continuity Professional, Certified Risk Manager) preferred.
  • Experience: At least 8 years in resilience management, business continuity, or risk management, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior management role.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • Expertise in developing and implementing resilience strategies and business continuity plans.
  • Strong knowledge of best practice resilience processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
