First pure security hire within a close knit technical team, reporting to the Head of IT & Security you'd be involved in driving an inflight security maturity program.

We're looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join an organisation within critical infrastructure. Currently the IT team are completing basic security work, but they are looking to bring onboard a dedicated Security professional to take the security maturity program forward with focus working closely with the head of.

This individual would be involved in a range of areas from improving the security maturity of technical environments, evaluating and selecting security tooling, implementing security controls and aligning the organisation to security frameworks (ISO27001). This is about 50% hands on technical work and 50% interpretation of frameworks, determining what is relevant and development of policies (broader GRC work). This will change as different phases of the program are embarked on.

A role with variety and the ability to make an impact as part of a well established technical team.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
  • Interpreting of the results of a gap assessment and developing relevant polices & procedures
  • Collaborate with technical team on security within design, development and deployment of new systems, applications & technology
  • Configuration of technical controls and involved in RFP processes for implementation of SIEM solution in future
  • Monitor and conduct investigations into security related incidents
  • Lead the implementation of policies, procedures and controls
  • Convey cyber security concepts to technical and non-technical individuals

You will need to bring experience with a mixture of network security principals, vulnerability management, incident response, SIEM tooling, risk assessment methodologies, aligning security initiatives to business strategies, knowledge of security frameworks (NIST/ISO2701) and a keen interest to get involved in a range of security focused tasks.
