Our client, a leading organisation in the financial services sector, is seeking professionals to join their Risk in Change team, supporting the successful delivery of strategic programs and transformation initiatives.

About the Role

As a key player within the Risk in Change team, you will support high-impact projects by providing expert risk and control advice to ensure a smooth transition from project phase to Business-As-Usual (BAU) risk ownership.
Your role will focus on proactively managing risks associated with change initiatives, helping the business achieve its objectives while ensuring risk is effectively identified, mitigated, and monitored.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk in Change Expertise: Lead risk management activities for complex change projects, ensuring timely identification and resolution of risk issues. Develop and maintain critical risk artefacts such as Risk and Control Matrices (RCMs) and RAID registers.
  • Project Risk Management: Provide comprehensive risk assessments, ensuring that project risks are appropriately addressed with strong controls. Offer expert advice to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Control & Compliance Oversight: Implement effective control frameworks and ensure control environments are maintained throughout the project life cycle. Support the business in embedding risk mitigation practices and closing control gaps.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with project teams, business units, and risk stakeholders, promoting a culture of proactive risk management. Ensure alignment with regulatory standards and organisational objectives.
  • Governance & Reporting: Monitor and report on the health of project portfolios, tracking risk mitigation progress and ensuring that projects meet risk management expectations.
Skills and Experience:
  • A minimum,of 3+ years Risk in Change, Project Risk or  Risk & Compliance experience within a large, regulated environment.
  • Expertise in managing risk for transformation and change initiatives, particularly within project execution and delivery phases.
  • Comprehensive understanding of and experience in Delivery Risk, Delivered Risk and Risk in Change, ideally within a large complex financial services organisation.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement control frameworks to ensure risks are adequately mitigated.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing key decision-makers and promoting a strong risk culture.
  • Familiarity with Risk & Control Matrices (RCM), RAID registers, and other essential risk documentation.
