Senior Manager – Group Regulatory Affairs

Our client, a respected financial institution, is seeking an accomplished professional to join their Regulatory Affairs team. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to regulatory strategy, build relationships with key regulators, and provide strategic insights to senior leadership. The Role:
As a Senior Manager in Group Regulatory Affairs, you will lead engagements with regulators,  focusing on the APRA, ASIC, AFCA and AUSTRAC. Your role is essential in interpreting the regulatory landscape and advising senior internal stakeholders, ensuring the organisation remains aligned with regulatory expectations and emerging risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive effective decision-making by leveraging relationships and industry expertise in regulatory and risk matters.
  • Provide strategic advice and analysis on regulatory trends and risks, delivering insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Support regulatory engagements by preparing briefing materials and attending key meetings with regulators.
  • Collaborate with internal business units to ensure timely, effective responses to regulatory requests.
  • Maintain operational excellence, adhering to internal processes, and staying abreast of relevant regulatory policies.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
  • Extensive experience in regulatory or prudential affairs within financial services or a regulatory body (APRA, ASIC, ADCA, AUSTRAC)
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory expectations and the ability to manage relationships with key regulators.
  • Proven experience engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives, with a keen understanding of regulatory impacts on business operations.
  • Exceptional communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
  • The ability to navigate complex regulatory requirements with sound judgement and flexibility.
