Role Title: Payroll Officer
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: 6 months
Rate: $350 - $400 + super per day
Work Type : Full Time
Location: North Sydney
 
A high-profile Insurance client are looking Payroll officer to join their team on a 6-month contract.
Ensures the regular payroll cycle is delivered in a timely and accurate manner by providing specialist services and processing expertise. Adhere to all controls and requirements to ensure compliance with internal and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the execution of the fortnightly end to end payroll processing function including the administration of payroll related information
  • Managing the documentation management of all Payroll paperwork.
  • Execution of processing of international transferees / assignees, mass payroll changes, specialist leaver arrangements, workers compensation related adjustments
  • Escalation point for the Payroll Officer to assist in resolving complex payroll issues
  • Remain up to date on all payroll legislative changes and how they apply to the organisation's ANZ employees, including PAYG, state tax and legislation, superannuation, new leave types
  • Interacts with the regulatory bodies inside the Australia and New Zealand jurisdictions, and external vendors, as required.
  • Assists in the building of positive relationships with organisations internal customers relative to the payroll function e.g., Finance
  • Demonstrates a learning culture within the team, assisting all payroll team members to continue to develop skill and share knowledge with the broader team
  • Participates and may lead continuous improvement reviews and initiatives
  • Payroll Tax reconciliation and submissions
  • Hands on experience with Year-end processing and Single Touch payroll.
Experience:
  • 5 years working in Payroll Services, especially in a hands on role – all rounder.
  • Advanced SAP experience is essential
  • Knowledge of Payroll legislative & regulatory issues
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel
  • High level of reconciliation and administrative skills
  • Certified payroll qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in finance or accounting are desirable
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of general payroll practices, procedures, operations and legislation
