Contract Details: 6-month contract, daily rate of $1,000 per day
About the Role: Our financial services client is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join their team on a six-month contract. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in contract management, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. You will provide critical legal oversight and support for the organization, working closely with local management and collaborating across internal teams to ensure all legal matters are managed effectively.
Key Responsibilities: Provide legal oversight on contracts, transactions, corporate governance, litigation, tax, human resources, data security, privacy, and real estate matters. Draft, review, and vet legal agreements, including IT contracts, vendor agreements, and license agreements. Serve as a legal advisor to local management, ensuring compliance with relevant regional laws and regulations. Monitor regulatory changes and support the team with risk assessments. Collaborate with central teams and manage external counsel on key legal topics. Manage litigation and inquiries, engaging with experts as needed. Advise on intellectual property, competition law, and mergers and acquisitions. Prepare board meeting agendas, manage corporate governance requirements, and fulfil corporate secretary responsibilities with confidentiality.
Qualifications: Law degree with extensive experience in contract management, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. Strong understanding of intellectual property, competition law, and litigation management. Excellent communication skills with an ability to collaborate effectively across teams and manage external partnerships. Proven ability to interpret regulatory requirements and provide clear legal guidance.
