The Role
Underwrite and manage a portfolio of motor products (private car initially but extending to telematics and van insurance risks).
Apply underwriting guidelines and pricing strategies to ensure profitable risk selection and pricing adequacy.
Collaborate with other teams to refine risk models and adjust pricing as needed.
Monitor and manage the loss ratio/performance of underwriting portfolios to ensure profitability and long-term sustainability.
Use data-driven insights to identify trends and opportunities for growth and improvement, which will ultimately include support on the enhancement of pricing models, policy structures, and risk frameworks.
Stay informed about industry trends and technological advancements to keep products competitive and compliant with regulatory changes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners to enhance market presence and distribution capabilities.
Run various UW reports for both the General Manager in Sydney and the Exec Director of Underwriting in the UK
Assisting with larger Underwriting projects.

Your Experience
Experience in underwriting motor insurance, with a strong focus on private car, telematics, and commercial vehicle segments.
Proficient in data analysis and the use of analytics to drive underwriting decisions in motor insurance products, particularly private car, telematics and van policies.
Self-starter, highly motivated, able to drive business/products forward, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
Strong relationship management with external and internal stakeholders.
