Head of Compliance – Financial Services Business Are you an experienced compliance leader with a strong background in financial services? We are seeking a dynamic Head of Compliance to join a trusted financial services business in a senior capacity. This role will see you driving strategic and operational compliance capabilities that are both commercially astute and fit for purpose.
About the Role: Reporting to the Executive General Manager of Legal, Compliance, and Risk, the Head of Compliance will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation meets its regulatory obligations. You will be responsible for developing and managing a robust compliance management framework that balances regulatory requirements with commercial practicality. You will also provide advisory support, oversee incident and breach reporting frameworks, and lead compliance committees. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a proactive approach to managing compliance obligations, offering compliance education, and delivering insightful reporting to senior stakeholders. You will collaborate closely with business owners to embed compliance practices throughout the organisation while ensuring that compliance obligations under AFSL, ASIC, APRA, Privacy, and industry codes are effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage the compliance framework, ensuring alignment with key regulatory requirements
Oversee the compliance obligations register and support business owners in managing obligations effectively
Provide compliance advisory services and lead incident management and breach reporting processes
Chair the Breach Committee and manage reporting to senior stakeholders
Organise and run compliance committees for ACL and AFSL obligations
Develop a regulatory change roadmap and monitor compliance with AFSL, ASIC, APRA, and other regulatory bodies
Deliver compliance education and awareness programs across the business
About You:
At least 7 years of experience in financial services or credit compliance
Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities, including high-impact presentation skills
Strategic thinking and demonstrated experience managing compliance frameworks
