Job Opportunity: Compliance and Governance - Retail Superannuation (Temporary Role)
Our client, a leader in the superannuation sector, is seeking a skilled and experienced professional to fill the temporary position of Manager – Compliance and Governance within their Office of the Superannuation Trustee (OST). This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with extensive experience in regulatory compliance, governance, or risk management, particularly within the superannuation industry, to join a dynamic team and support crucial governance functions.

Role Overview
The OST team ensures that the Superannuation Board meets its corporate governance and fiduciary responsibilities, advocating for the members' best financial interests. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting various compliance and governance functions, including regulatory reporting, policy reviews, service provider oversight, and managing data requests from regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source, collate, analyze, and present data from service providers and regulatory bodies
  • Support the oversight of service providers by attending meetings and coordinating reviews
  • Assist the OST and trustees on regulatory topics and provide key insights
  • Ensure compliance with prudential requirements, assist external auditors, and ensure the Board receives accurate and timely information
  • Manage the review process for Trustee policies and procedures
  • Prepare gap analyses against regulatory best practices and support reporting obligations
  • Contribute to the delivery of all required governance and regulatory obligations
  • Lead project tasks, maintain risk and issue registers, and oversee expenses for key projects
Candidate Profile
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with the following skills and attributes:
  • Experience: 5-8 years of relevant experience in financial services, with a focus on superannuation operations or governance roles
  • Superannuation Expertise: Strong knowledge of superannuation products and trustee obligations
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent quantitative and analytical abilities, with strong attention to detail
  • Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Organisational Abilities: Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to comprehend complex issues and offer practical solutions
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree or postgraduate qualifications are highly desirable
  • Industry certifications in compliance, governance, or risk management are beneficial
