Risk & Compliance Manager – Financial Services

Location:  Western Sydney, NSW
Employment Type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Salary: $125,000 plus Super
Are you an experienced Risk & Compliance professional looking for a 12 month fixed term contract role in a growing financial services organisation? We are recruiting on behalf of a leading financial services provider seeking a dynamic individual to manage their Compliance and Operational Risk framework, ensuring regulatory adherence and best practice risk management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage compliance frameworks, ensuring adherence to AFSL and ACL requirements.
  • Oversee staff training, regulatory reporting, and governance of risk and compliance policies.
  • Establish and oversee an Operational Risk and Controls Assessment Framework.
  • Implement fraud prevention measures and oversee AML/CTF compliance.
  • Lead business continuity planning and risk assessments.
  • Manage and mentor the Compliance and Risk team, promoting a strong risk culture.
About You:
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience as a Responsible Manager under a Credit Licence is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of NCCP, AML/CTF, and Privacy Law requirements.
  • Proven experience in risk and compliance within financial services, preferably in motor finance or consumer lending.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to balance regulatory compliance with business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage customer complaints and external dispute resolution processes.
